Everest selects The Best Connection for Workforce Flexibility

Leading Flexible Workforce Solutions Provider, The Best Connection, has been chosen by home improvement specialist, Everest, to supply temporary staff for its manufacturing site in Sittingbourne, Kent.  The business behind the popularisation of uPVC and one of the UK’s top manufacturers of double glazed windows and conservatories opted for a single provider solution to ensure consistency of supply and greater management control.

The contract was awarded following an in-depth analysis of Everest’s usage of temporary staff which was jointly conducted with The Best Connection’s Managed Services team and Everest’s operations department, which identified a number of areas where the usage of a single provider could add significant efficiency and cost benefits.

“Before we could propose the ideal solution to Everest, we needed to collect management data from the client,” said Neil Yorke, director, The Best Connection. “This was then used to develop and agree a framework of services that would introduce the desired operational benefits.”

The Best Connection proposed a value added solution incorporating Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Management Indicators (MI’s) based on Everest’s overall usage and cost per department. 

“During the implementation phase, we worked closely with The Best Connection to ensure a smooth transition from our incumbent agencies.   The project also included the installation of a Time and Attendance System to introduce further efficiencies and management data,” said Vince Flemons, manufacturing manager at Everest.

As part of the continual improvement ethos, The Best Connection is currently working on a temporary worker training passport system to mirror the Everest training matrices.  This will enable Everest to track temporary operative productivity.

“The Everest contract win is a great example of what can be achieved when client and agency work in a true partnership arrangement. Our Crawley team and Managed Services Division are continually evolving the client relationship systems and developing closer affiliation with Everest to fine tune the solution,” concluded Yorke. 

Future plans include a permanent The Best Connection-Everest representative to deliver full on-site inductions.
