High Ranking The Best Connection Maintains Consistency in Tough Market

Birmingham's The Best Connection employment group has been ranked 33^rd in the West Midland's Top 200 privately owned companies. The recognition is presented in the West Midlands Company Guide, produced annually by KPMG and the Birmingham Post.  

The Best Connection Group trades from its 63 branches throughout the UK where it supplies temporary labour to the industrial, HGV and warehouse & distribution sectors.  With nearly 600 permanent staff, 50,000 temps and 10,000 clients, it achieved a turnover in excess of £172 million in 2007 and was ranked as the largest supplier of temporary drivers in the driving/HGV market (for the fifth consecutive year) and fourth largest industrial provider.

Despite challenging trading conditions the business has demonstrated resilience and focus in maintaining its regional and national presence.  Neil Yorke, The Best Connection's director, commented: "Like many organisations in the service sector, we are affected by the success and changing needs of our customers.  In responding to these challenges, we have demonstrated flexibility and continually adapt our strategy to keep ahead of our competitors.  We are delighted to be maintaining our comparative position in the West Midlands Top 200 league table."

Economic downturn and lowered growth expectations for many of The Best Connection's customers have emphasised the importance of delivering consistent, high customer satisfaction.  As the number one provider of temporary drivers in the country, spiralling fuel costs and other inflationary pressures have also added a further challenge to the business.

"Our investment in training programmes to up-skill our workforce is paying off.  We have local presence and the weight of a national organisation required to service the most demanding of customers.   When times are tough, the strength of relationships is put to the test and this goal of working hand in glove with customers is something we have focused on since our launch," continued Neil Yorke.

The Best Connection was formed in Birmingham in 1991 and has approached a niche market with dynamism.  In little over a decade it has positioned itself as the leading operator in its sectors and continues to be managed by its founder directors.
